NuScale Power signed a contract with Doosan Enerbility covering the upper reactor coolant system for the NuScale Power Module, NuScale said on October 29. Doosan will carry out the work at its reactor production facility in Changwon, Korea.

The contract moves the two companies from preparation into production of the First Article for the upper reactor coolant system. It was signed at a ceremony at Doosan's headquarters. The agreement builds on a partnership that began in 2019, during which the companies developed the manufacturing processes, supply chain and production infrastructure for NuScale's NRC-approved design.

NuScale said the contract supports deployment of its SMR technology in the United States and internationally and its move from design certification to module delivery as customer projects progress.
